Jay Thomas was extra cranky, but I really liked him. He unfortunately passed away yesterday.
Jay and I worked together on a radio commercial, and he was funny and cool, but he was definitely a grouch. He was miffed when we had to come back a second day to redo a voiceover, even though he was getting paid twice. I didn’t mind – that was always Jay’s public persona on his radio show, and his appearances with David Letterman, who adored him.
Really sad to see him go.
