How It All Started.

90 years from now, they’ll sing songs about the courage and bravery we displayed by posting pictures of bread we baked during the pandemic.

I’m as guilty as anyone, what with my daily blog. But I did have a conundrum when the quarantine began, wondering what I could possibly write about while we were all cooped up. So I tried video instead, shooting a scene from Casino that I had performed in a casting workshop, with Ricky silently playing Joe Pesci’s role.

An online talk show, I thought – that’s what I’ll do during the pandemic. I shot a second episode, this time featuring my nephew as a guest via FaceTime. But before I posted it, my good friend Ben Mall intervened. “Recreate iconic movie scenes with your dog,” he said. “That’s what you need to be doing.”

I was off to the races, with Ben being the most helpful friend, concepting new ideas for scenes with me, and advising me on direction and editing. Every day, I couldn’t wait to shoot them. And I’ll get back to them, sooner than later, because they are really fun. I mean courageous and brave.
